Yadkin Concrete · Stamped & Decorative
Stamped concrete gives you the look of stone, slate, or wood plank at a fraction of the cost of laying the real thing — colored through the mix, textured while wet, and sealed to hold its finish. We stamp patios, walkways, porches, and borders across the NC foothills.
How we build it
Ashlar slate, fieldstone, cobble, wood plank — we bring samples and photos to the estimate.
Same disciplined base prep and reinforcement as any patio; decorative doesn't mean delicate.
Color mixed through the concrete, not painted on — chips and wear don't expose gray.
Texture mats worked while the slab is plastic, with release color for depth and shadow.
A quality sealer locks in color and sheds stains; we tell you the honest resealing schedule.

Every job gets a written estimate after we see the site — free, and the person measuring is the person on the pour. These are the things that actually change what stamped and decorative cost:
Intricate patterns and multiple colors take more crew time on the day than a single-pattern field.
Integral color plus antiquing release costs more than single-color; borders in a second pattern add detail work.
Same drivers as any slab — access, grading, and base needs.
Standard sealers look great; wet-look or non-slip additives are modest upgrades.
Typically well under the installed cost of natural stone or pavers, with no joints to weed or reset.

Sealed smooth textures can be when wet. Around pools and on walks we add a non-slip grit to the sealer or choose deeper textures — you keep the look without the skating rink. Say where it's going and we'll spec the right combination.
Integral color is part of the concrete and doesn't peel or wear off; what dulls over years is the sealer, not the color. Resealing every 2–3 years brings the depth right back — it's an afternoon's work, and we'll remind you what to use.
Installed, stamped concrete usually costs meaningfully less than natural stone and is competitive with quality pavers — with no joints for weeds, ants, or frost heave to work on. Pavers win on spot-repairability; stamped wins on maintenance and a monolithic slab.
Ashlar slate and fieldstone are the perennial favorites; cobble, seamless texture, and wood plank all have their place. Colors run from grays and buffs to terracotta. We'll bring samples, and there are photos of local work in our gallery.
Yes — a broom-finish field with a stamped, colored border is one of the best value moves in decorative work: most of the look, modest premium. It also pairs well with driveways and pool decks.
